Our ‘Nurture in Nature’ Intervention groups aim to support the emotional well being of participants, through the building of communication and cooperation skills, self-regulation and confidence. Through a school or self-referral process, pupils who have experienced trauma, struggle in mainstream education or require additional support to improve confidence and self-esteem, will be invited to attend a block of weekly small group sessions, which will combine a Forest School approach with emotional well-being support. An introduction to the Zones of Regulation coupled with mindfulness techniques, will help develop a common language and deeper understanding of the link between emotions and behaviours, and aim to support participants to develop their self-regulation strategies. Our small group sizes allow connections to develop between participants and for our leaders to foster supportive relationships to help individuals flourish.
